Description The old presbytery, a hidden gem in Central Brittany, a tranquil landscaped setting only 1.5kms from the centre of town. Renovated with great taste by the present owners as a beautiful family home complete with indoor heated swimming pool and a conservatory extension kitted out in the style of an English pub! A period property with modern amenities must be seen.

Main House Ground Floor

This stunning property is approached form the large private driveway and directly into the main reception room. It is a lovely, grand room with feature stone walls, underfloor heating, exposed beams, a chestnut staircase, door to the kitchen, two double glazed windows to the front and one to the rear, two doors to the front, a ceramic floor, storage space and doors leading to the back courtyard area.

At the end of the small corridor is the real surprise to this house. There is an indoor heated swimming pool which is kept at normally 27-28 Degrees. This was a birthday present from the husband to the wife. It has decking all around, exposed beams, a door to the back courtyard, doors leading to what the owners call the English pub and there is a lovely shower enclosure and changing area that they have made into a beach hut. This room also has a heating pump. Pool size 5m x 2.5m.

The double doors lead into what the owners call their English pub. Unfortunately they no longer have the bar installed, but it does have a ceramic black floor, electric heart, 2 sets of sliding doors to the front patio, 2 large windows with some lovely views of the garden. The real feature of this room is the beautiful log burner set out into the room. They even have a set of antique doors for a cupboard that they had kept for over 30 years before they found where to put them.

Utility Room

4.40m x 1.50m

Moving back to the reception room, there is a corridor that continues past the stairs. It leads to more living space. To the right is a quirky toilet that looks like a sauna and to the left is the utility room. It has a ceramic floor, the underfloor heating system, a sink, storage and white goods. Also in this corridor is a door leading out to the front.

Outbuilding First Floor

6.10m x 3.30m

On the first floor is just more storage space, it has exposed beams and a wooden floor. This is under 1.8m high so would be classed as inhabitable space at the moment.

Wine Cave

2.40m x 1.90m

To the right hand side of the building is a second entrance that leads to the wine cave. It has a lovely floor with beach stones, electrics and plenty of storage for your wine collection.

6.90m x 5.90m

Behind the main house and with its own driveway is the large, wooden double garage. It has a stone floor, electrics, a separate storage room and there are steps leading down to the main house.

The garden has been beautifully maintained, landscaped by the current owners and completely surrounds the property. It is peaceful and private with mature shrubs, outdoor tap and some lovely lighting features. There is a main terrace from the conservatory and at the front of the property is a circular stone table and seating area. It is almost a small island on its own with a large driveway and multiple parking spaces.

4.20m x 2.70m

The garden also benefits from a large greenhouse which the owner purchased from Germany. It is ready for potting plants and has a pathway leading back to the main house.

This beautifully restored family home was originally the presbytery for the priests from the Chappelle of Locmaria opposite. The current owners had searched for their ideal home in the area without success, before discovering the project which was to become their ideal home, complete with indoor swimming pool and the conservatory kitted out in the style of a café/pub. The property was completely gutted internally, revealing many artifacts, which the owners went on to use, all the exposed beams you see now had been hidden, and the beautiful niche in the living room had been boarded over. The earth which at the back of the property had been up to first floor level, was landscaped to allow windows at the back on the ground floor, making the property light and airy. At every turn, inside the house, are features and aspects to make you smile, from the beach hut changing room at the side of the pool to the English pub atmosphere in the conservatory.
